Scones- Maple Apple Spelt

Yum, these melt in your mouth and are a great addition to your morning coffee or tea!


  • 6 cups of spelt flour or flour of choice
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp of nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of chia seeds for iron
  • blend: 2 sticks of browned butter ( melt and brown in pan) with 1 cup of maple syrup
  • cut this in to flour mix with a pastry blender
  • In a separate bowl mix together:
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 2/3 cup of apple sauce
  • 2 eggs

Blend this mix with the flour mixture and mound on baking sheet, sprinkle with sugar and sea salt

Bake at 400 for 18 min or until golden brown
